Scavenger Hunt

1. Capture the Sky
"If to Heaven's heights I fly
You are still beside me,
Or in death's dark shadows lie,
You will stay close by me.
If I flee on morning wings
Far across the gray sea,
Even there your hand will lead,
Your right hand will guide me."
-Fernando Ortega

2. Everyday
I had a lot of ideas for this (coffee, kisses, etc.) but in the end I decided to focus on the ultimate objective: to live every day for God's glory.

3. Furry
This is Rosie in the arms of my little nephew. He carried her away during my little furry photo shoot, which is ok, because this is better than anything else I took before :)

4. Life
My beautiful sister Faith and baby (girl/boy?)

5. Blurred
Collaboration by me and Faith (just between you and me, she is actually the one who took this but she is sharing with me :)

Every Day

Scavenger Hunt items for this week:
1. Capture the sky
2. Everyday
3. Furry
4. Life
5. Blurred

I thoroughly enjoyed hunting this week but the concept that really caught my attention was
2. Everyday.
I thought of a million possibilities, took a hundred photos and I also felt a lot of different emotions (e.g. depression about the never ending laundry and joy that my husband still loves me)
so I decided to do a separate post with some of my everyday photos:

Morning
My favorite time of day

Dishes
I am so thankful for running water (especially hot water)!

Laundry
Yes please, I'd prefer to push a button and have energy!

Play Time

Nap Time

Quiet Moments
I didn't take this photo of my little brother this week. He died two years ago and I miss him every. single. day.

Snuggles
Wait a minute, why in the world did I think that I could capture the ups and downs of every day life? It's bittersweet... good and bad, happy and sad all mixed up.
Every day.

Oh what a beautiful morning

Oh, what a beautiful day!

My awesome sister Faith came for a visit this week...
we don't get together very often but when we do, we pick right back up where we left off.
We are 18 months apart and as kids we had our spats but we have always been best friends (I remember coming to the realization that we can still be friends even when we disagree :)

I saw the same dynamic with her older girls and it made me smile.
Talking of which- I can't get enough of these cuties!

...friendship is a beautiful thing :)

That's my girl!

They are pretending to go on an adventure in the jungle:

He's the expert guide, she's the photographer.

Now that is some serious chimping!

Scavenger Hunt

I look forward this all week, and now it's finally here!

1. Chocolate
2. Numbers
3.Canned Food
(Whoah, check out the expiration date on that! It went into the trash after our little photo shoot)
4. Stack
5. Music
I really love this Hymn:

One there is, above all others,
Well deserves the name of Friend;
His is love beyond a brother’s,
Costly, free, and knows no end:
They who once His kindness prove,
Find it everlasting love!

Which of all our friends to save us,
Could or would have shed their blood?
But our Jesus died to have us
Reconciled, in Him to God:
This was boundless love indeed!
Jesus is a Friend in need.

When He lived on earth abasèd,
Friend of sinners was His name;
Now, above all glory raisèd,
He rejoices in the same:
Still He calls them brethren, friends,
And to all their wants attends.

Could we bear from one another,
What He daily bears from us?
Yet this glorious Friend and Brother,
Loves us though we treat Him thus:
Though for good we render ill,
He accounts us brethren still.

O for grace our hearts to soften!
Teach us, Lord, at length to love;
We, alas! forget too often,
What a Friend we have above:
But when home our souls are brought,
We will love Thee as we ought.

-John Newton, 1779

Black & White Wednesday

My funny, busy, independent little guy is sick today.
I don't like sick days but I do love these rare opportunities to cuddle my baby.

Scavenger Hunt

1. Shadows
2. Pattern/ Repetition
Can I just say that there are patterns everywhere?! I had a lot of fun with this one :)

3. Bright White
My original plan was to use a snow photo from this week but when my husband gave me gorgeous flowers I couldn't resist using them instead.
4. Strong
I tried to convince my husband to let me photograph him for this one but he was not a fan of the idea. His alternative suggestion was coffee- good one!
5. Warm
That feeling in my heart when I dry his tears.

Love Letters to Kitty Paw

Ashley Sisk @ Ramblings&Photos is hosting a FUN photo contest for her cat called
"Love letters to Kitty Paw."
I've always been a cat person and have loved several awesome cats.

But I married a guy who is allergic...

so now we have fish.

Kitty Paw, I would gladly send you something delightful, if I could!

{day 10}

{Where she is comfortable}

she's growing too quickly! She's passionate about doing everything by herself, she's getting the hang of potty training, she's mothering every baby she can find and she can hop up into "bottom bunk" during nap time... she feels pretty special.
