Baby, baby, baby!

Here are some photos from my first infant photo shoot. This baby is such a handsome little man, and quite the model- he woke up soon after we began and struck little poses for me!

While I'm happy with the images, I still have a lot of room for improvement and I welcome constructive criticism.

Skin tone

My skin tones are often too orange or red. Take a look at this cute little guy:

I fiddle around until I get something that may or may not be better...

or I convert to black & white.

Any ideas?

Vacation

It's been a while since I have posted anything and I'd like to catch up. I went on vacation with my family- my husband's whole family went to North Carolina together and it was amazing! We stayed in a house on the beach that was big enough for all 20 of us. We did all kinds of wonderful "vacationy" things: we played on the beach, went on a boat ride and watched dolphins playing around the boat, we played putt-putt golf where my 3 yr. old nephew got a hole in one (I think that we should watch that one!) that's the same nephew who, when asked what he thought of the ocean answered "well, it moves a little bit." Good Things

"When we have good things, we share them."

My kids hear me say it all the time but I don't always apply it to myself (please tell me that I'm not the only one who has eaten the last piece of chocolate while the kids are asleep :-).

Well today my daughter said:

"Momma, pwease I pick yours fowers? Say yes."

I have to say that sharing has never been so easy!

My Summer in Review

This has been a great summer! My kids are at a young age and they are making many discoveries. I'm also learning allot about them...

This boy is super competitive

this girl is not :)

they both love to sing

and they decided that water is awesome...

and exhausting...

they proved that they have big personality

and they can be big helpers.

They found things to play

and things to share.

They tasted "awicious" foods

and some... not so much

and a couple weeks ago, my baby learned how to walk!

Here are some of the things that my oldest said this summer:

“Woah, my legs don’t feel very runny right now.”

“The hummingbird flew away and now there’s a real bird on the back porch.”

“May I step on the scale to see how much I waste?”

“I need to work on my bike. The engine is not very good.”

"Of course it's cute, it's a little boy!"

The photo challenge at Simplicity is "...a random picture that pretty much summarizes what life is like at your house on any given day."

With the weather cooling down a little, we have been spending our time outside and my little artist is happy to decorate the swing set with chalk! You can see that she is pretty pleased with her work.
