Mystery

The Case of the Missing Bunny
(again)

I can hardly believe that our bunny is missing again. When she came home last week after her trying experience my husband secured the roof of the hutch and screwed a board across the front and the bottom so the hutch couldn't be chewed open, pushed open or tipped backward again. We were confident that she was completely safe... and in fact, the hutch isn't tipped over or opened up but the truth remains.

Darcy is gone.

Our only clues at present are: the hutch has been pushed sideways, the water and feeder have both been pulled off and with the feeder gone there is a 3x5" opening in the side of the hutch.
I don't have the energy to go take a pic of the opening but I think you can see here that there is a skinny opening for the feeder.
We are completely baffled. The opening in the side seems much too small for a dog (who is big enough to push the hutch cattywumpus) and it even seems too small for our bunny to fit through!
My little girl's theory is that a bad guy came, took Darcy out and released her to the wild.

Her guess is as good as mine!

The Best Spot in the House

Can someone please explain to me...
...what makes this spot so special?
And yes, today marks a record for this little flock- 5 eggs in one day! Woohoo!

Sweet Shot Tuesday

Confession: I am feeling completely devoid of creative energy this week, in fact my version of creativity has been taking videos of my little ones on my iphone. And while that might not be very creative, I have a feeling that when my children are big, and I have tons of time for creativity, I will really miss this season of life and I'll be glad to have reminders of the little things... the stories and songs, the wild laughter and maybe even the potty training :)
I hope I never forget how adorable my girlie girl looks when she hops on her big brother's four wheeler and zooms around at top speed!

A Fish, A Bunny and Some Random Objects

Well, not too random I hope since they are all on the list of this week's Scavenger Hunt!

1. Rainbow
a glimpse of our shy new Betta. Today his name is Rainbow Sparkle... tomorrow? Who knows what his name might be!
 2. Fluffy
No, this is NOT from the archives... after MIA for two days, Darcy came back! My oldest boy says it's like a dream come true- I heartily agree and I'm still hoping that Bingley will come home too.
 3. Letters

4. Metal
this is a piece called "0 Through 9" by Jasper Johns (born in Augusta GA, 1930). It was part of the
"Picasso to Warhol" exhibit at the museum and I think it's cool. Can you see all the numbers?
 5. Tree
that's a tree, right? Not sure but I love the pink so I'm gonna go with it!
Well, I hope you made it through Monday. Thanks for stopping by!

Ready... And... Action!

Here is a kid with a great imagination. He is always on the go, always thinking something up. I rarely get photos of him these days so I decided to snap a few action shots of him pretending to be Sonic... or one of the other Sega All Stars :)

how did his arm end up back there?

As you can see, he's really good at racing ;)

In loving memory

Today we are missing two little friends...

we don't know exactly what happened last night but we found a few clues: their hutch had been knocked over backwards and the lid was open, there are chew marks on the front of the hutch, some blood stains on their little house and a large paw print in the mud close by.

When we told the children that Darcy and Bingley are gone, my little girl said
"Call 911! We have a bunny emergency!"
my littlest boy said "bye bye buhees."
and my biggest boy prayed "Dear God please bring our bunnies home safely!"
As you may imagine, there have been tears shed around here... and it's not just the kids.
I loved how snuggly and gentle they were,
and how spunky and inquisitive they were.
But I especially loved how the children enjoyed them.

We really enjoyed our little friends, I have this irrational hope that our girls escaped the danger and are happily digging burrows, hopping around together and lounging in a field somewhere... doing the things they enjoyed most.

100 M&M's

Ok, so the theme over at my3boybarians.com is 100 and I laughed when I saw that theme because my plan was to post about potty training! A number of  interpretations ran through my head: 100 sprints to the potty? 100 minutes of sitting on the potty? 100 accidents? I hope not! We just started yesterday and he is already doing really well! He caught on faster than I expected, woke up dry from nap and quickly discovered that he gets m&m's every time he goes "pshhhh" (as he calls it) in the potty- huge motivator for this little guy! Still, I'm telling myself not to expect an overnight transition- especially since I'm going to miss that part of his babyhood. So I'm thinking that he will probably receive approximately 100 M&M's candies by the time he's proficient at this whole potty thing. And if he's trained before he gets all 100, I think I'll give him the candy anyway ;)
What do you think?
