So far I've been happy with wingin' it behind the camera... sure, I shoot in manual but I still have a lot to learn and I'm ready to step it up so I would really appreciate constructive criticism!
Oh my goodness...I think these are beautiful! The second one is my favorite. (I am far too new at photography to offer anything more than how much I like them.) So pretty.
These are very pretty! Some may consider lowering the shutter speed since the subject is not in motion, allowing one to also lower the ISO, further reducing noise. But your setting may also reflect a specific stylistic choice(?) Either way, these are great photos with nice sharpness, certainly a benefit of a higher shutter speed!
If I were picking this flower shot I would choose the second shot. You have a nice shallow depth of field, which makes the flower the focus, but we can still see the soft image of the vase it is in. It feels grounded. For the close up shots, the top is better composed than the last one. In the top one you are drawn to the middle of the flower, in the last one the focus sort of leaves you with a feeling of falling off the page. :)
